Day 1 : Hoa Lu – Tam Coc – Mua cave
As the first capital of the first imperial country of Vietnam, Hoa Lu is famous for its victorious history in 10th century, which is related to the Đinh and Lê dynasties. Located here are the temples of two empires, archeological sites and the tomb of the first King. The tomb of the first King is located on the top of a mountain where you can take in the landscape of the whole ancient capital. The other site – Tam Coc, which means three caves, brings you different experiences on the boat trip on Ngo Dong river. After that, you can visit the beautiful Mua (Dance) cave, then take a hike up about 500 steps to the top of the mountain for the panoramic view of all the fields as well as that of Tam Coc.

Day 2: Bai Dinh pagoda – Cuc Phuong national park
Day 2 starts with a ride to the biggest pagoda in Vietnam. It’s located 15 kilometers from Tam Coc and Ninh Binh city. This area includes an ancient and a new pagoda. The ancient temple is set up in the several caves on top, whereas the new pagoda holds a lot of Vietnamese and Asian records of statues. Next we continue our ride to Cuc Phuong national park. The park is a fauna and flora oasis and including a primate rescue center, turtle center and a huge system of forest. You will have a trek into the core center of the forest, where stands an ancient thousand-year-old tree. Here you can discover the various ecosystems of the park untouched by humans. Lunch will be had in the park, then afterwards we will head back to Trang An Retreat.
